I'm not aware of any "merchant" account that is run by QuickBooks directly.
Intuit is a reseller of the authorize.net service, which Zen Cart supports. Perhaps you can confirm with whoever is trying to sell you a "quickbooks merchant account" what exactly the underlying technology really is.

It's Quickbooks trying to sell me a Quickbooks merchant account. The second link is the direct question.

    Aha.

I just spoke with QuickBooks Merchant Services.
No, you cannot use a Quickbooks Merchant account with Zen Cart, as QuickBooks merchant accounts are not "traditional" merchant accounts that tie in with 3rd-party programs like Zen Cart. At least not natively.

Well ... there "might" be a way ... if you want to study and learn their API's from their SDK and become a developer for QuickBooks products. Then you "might" be able to build something that will interface with Zen Cart.

If you go to the QuickBooks "Pro Series Merchant Services" options you'll see their offering for authorize.net accounts via Wells Fargo. These rates are competitive, and the service will work fine with the built-in Zen Cart "authorize.net AIM" payment module.
