fck editor plugin - error loading editors/fckplugin/fckstyles.xml

I get the following error message when I try to use the fckeditor plugin.

Error loading editors/fckplugin/fckstyles.xml

I'd start by re-uploading that file in case it failed to upload properly.

1. Are there any messages in your server's errorlog when this occurs?

2. Perhaps the .htaccess file in your /editors folder may be blocking access and you'll need to adjust it to suit your server's configuration for security protection. You could test this by renaming the .htaccess in that folder to htaccess_temp

There are no messages in my server's error logs.

Renaming the htaccess file didn't fix the problem.

I can't duplicate this.

It seems to me like a permissions issue or something blocking access to the file.

Can you access the file directly via your browser?

Wait a sec ... your post says "editors/fckplugin/fckstyles.xml" .... why did you call it "fckplugin" ? Which files did you edit to rename that ?

Sorry. The error message does say error loading editors/fckeditor/fckstyles.xml

I can access the file in my browser without any permission problems.

Nevermind, the editor seems to work well anyway. I just have to click ok everytime the error pops up.

I had the same problem and fixed it by making a .htaccess file in the /editors/fckeditor/ directory with the following line in it.

AddType text/xml .xml
