    Default How do I get my SSL to work ?

    Hi,

    I have read through every thread on SSL but not one person seems to have experienced this problem. The site reverts to http:// as soon as I move from the index page - I am manually typing https://allaboutwomen.com.au into the address bar.

    I have successfully installed SSL cert on a dedicated Ip. Certifcate is working for the domain. I have checked my configure.php server settings. Have included below:

    define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://allaboutwomen.com.au/');
    define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://allaboutwomen.com.au/');
    define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://allaboutwomen.com.au/');
    define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://allaboutwomen.com.au/');
    define('ENABLE_SSL', 'true');

    PROBLEM: as soon as I click on any catalogue link it always goes back to http - I have even tried commenting out the http urls and have tried making everything https - nothing I have tried is stoping the site from reverting to http. It is not going to https for the check out - only get https when I get to the Pay Pal payments gateway.

    Does anybody know what could be the problem? I am tearing my hair out because I don't want people entering their personal information on a non-encrypted site.

    Many thanks in advance to anyone who has any suggestions!!!

    The Zen Cart program is smart and it knows which pages need to be SSL and which don't and it switches back and forth between them seemlessly.

    Is there a reason you think the whole store should be SSL?

    I would really like it to be SSL when someone is creating a new account and putting their billing information in. I would like the account creation to be secure so that people know that their information being entered cannot be intercepted.

    - I can't find a single page where Zen Cart is switching to SSL.

    Do you know if it only switches to SSL when you are using the built-in credit card payments module ie. where people enter their credit card details in a Zen Cart form as opposed to Pay Pal?

    Thanks for your response - it makes me feel better about this just to have some help. But it looks like I might have a problem if I do want the whole site to be SSL?

    It is only a small site - basically to take membership payments for a Womens Business Networking thing.

    Dont have a huge product catalogue all being encrypted :)

    Default Re: Why have the option for HTTPS_CATALOGUE when it doesn't work?

    hmmm, Zen Cart might be smart - though maybe not quite into the realm of AI :)

    but it has the option for HTTPS_CATALOGUE - and that should cover pages where you are entering personal and identity related information...is that unreasonable?

    Do you have Zen Cart installed in a sub-directory? I have gone to the URL posted above and all I see is a huge "poster" (much larger than 1024x768)

    What is the URL of the shop?

    yeah - the client asked me to take down the site today while we made some changes.

    the shop url is http://allaboutwomen.com.au/store

    or

    https://allaboutwomen.com.au/store - that's what I want to be using

    Got a certificate for both versions of the domains - if that makes any difference!

    ...And the jpg doesn't come up large on my screen - I have a wide-screen laptop though. There is actually plenty of white space around the image on my screen....good to know that it doesn't look like that to everyone, but only very temporary.

    Thank you so much for giving me this link - I have been looking on the Wiki site and on the forums everywhere but couldn't find this sort of thing.

    Cheers!! (I hope it helps though)

    You appear to be having issues in the Catalog but you posted the settings that are in the Admin /admin/includes/configure.php file vs the Catalog /includes/configure.php

    Perhaps you are not checking the right file or have overwritten the Catalog configure.php with the Admin configure.php

    Plus your defines end in the /

    This leads me to believe you may have other settings off as well ...

    If you could post your files, from the server, without your username and password for:
    /includes/configure.php
    /admin/includes/configure.php

    It would help in identifying all of the problems ...
