I have a question regarding shipping costs using the table rate.

I have set the weight of all my products I have added and they show up and total correctly and the shipping charges show up correctly. However I have an issue with heavier items.

My shipping rates are divided into 11 tiers. The first 4 are flat rates covering anything up to 23.9lbs. This was really easy to set up in the shipping table.

The problem arises from anything that is 24lbs and higher. The remaining 7 tiers are all per pound shipping rates. For instance, an order that had a total weight of its products equalling 30lbs would be charged say $0.35 per pound ($0.35 X 30 = $10.50). The problem is that the tier that the 30lbs falls in may cover order totals weighing from 25 to 40lbs.

The flat rate was really easy to set up as, for example, 23.9:8.00 so that any order that has products totalling from 0 to 23.9lbs gets a shipping charge of $8.00. With the per pound tiers I dont see an easy way to set this up.

Yeah, I could just set it up in small chunks, for instance figure up the cost of say 25 - 30lbs times the per pound rate but the seven additional tiers cover 24lbs all the way up to 1000lbs.

So does anyone have any ideas on how to do this? Setting it up in small chunks is going to make for a great deal of work and a pretty large shipping table. Is there an easier solution. I could list my entire shipping rate schedule if it would help. I appreciate any assistanc.
