I've been struggling to make any sense of a load of threads & posts sort of covering this topic, most of which don't mention the need to create files in /modules/pages.

Thanks to whoever wrote the "About Us downloads" contribution, you have saved my life

Only minor comment is that the file /includes/modules/sideboxes/MYTEMPLATE/information.php might already exist - because I've added 'About us' and now I'm adding a 'Cooking hints' page), so might need to edit it rather than create/overwrite it.

Ok, I am a complete and utterly lost newb to Zen-cart. I was simply trying to make changes to the first page that comes up on the site with "Sales Message Goes Here" and or "Tagline Here". I used Dreamweaver to make the changes. when i was finished i couldn't get my web site to come up at all. i called my host and they told me that i needed to "name my main_page 'INDEX.HTML' in the root directory. OK GREEK! i have absolutely no clue what anyone is talking about. Completely frustrated!!!! any and all help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!

help question Re: How to add pages to define page status

    Hi there

i've looked and looked without success for a way to add new pages to the define pages editor. I want to be able to add more pages that will show up in the same sidebox as page 2, page 3, page 4. but i don't know how to do it. Can anyone out there give me a list of the files i would need to change in order to add as many pages as i wish, i have already found out a way to change the name of these pages to display whatever i wish (eg: page 2 = course fishing)

    I wait hopefully

I did it customizing the "About Us" contribution, found in the downloads area.
There is another contrib. based on that one, you will have to mess around with both.

help question Re: How to add pages to define page status?

Hi again, thanks for the help so far, seems everything works out when i follow your advice. back to the defien pages editor, i found a define_pages_generator in the downloads section of zencart, i can't really pick up on the use of it, for instance it says to create a new file in your chosen template, i did this but it doesn't show up, niether can i find it in the folder i created it in.

This is what it says about using the product::

DefinePagesGenerator for Windows XP takes the hassle out of creating
new define pages, by generating the core files neccesary for a define
page to function and putting them in the correct ZenCart directory
    structure

Can yoou give me any idea as to what is the correct zencart directory to actually use when creating new files

I'd be most grateful for your neverending advice

I never used that contrib. so cannot help you there.
Try the "About Us", should work fine, it is the mother of all contribs. for define pages.

I'm working on this now. I downloaded and unzipped the About Me info. I'm getting confused on the uploading to the server part. Do I put each file into each path/whatever?

    No, not whatever.
Just follow the folder structure in the contrib. taking care of renaming MY_TEMPLATE to your actual template name.
My suggestion is that you first follow the steps in the Zen Cart manual and create a test site.
You simply drop the includes folder (after renaming template) to the root and accept changes.
