Default Add to cart button on outside pages

I would like to put an "add to cart" button on a page outside of the cart. I have not looked at the process yet, so this is basically a "save me some time digging" question. Is there a way to add the quantity choice and an add to cart link on an outside page? I am guessing that there is a "get" command in the URL of the Add to Cart link, but as I said above, this is the first part of the attempt at doing this. I cannot convince the website customer that a link to the cart page for the item is easier. They want "Add to Cart" buttons all over their website instead of a central cart (which is what they'll have anyway without realizing it).
To be honest, I'm hoping the answer to this question is "no" because it will save me lots of extra work.

The answer is no, there is not an easy way to do what they want.

Thanks for saving me a ton of work. I know I could probably get it done eventually (I'm very persistent....), but I managed to convince them that a link to the cart page for the item was a much better plan.
