The same thing happened to me today with 4 orders!!!!!
ANy new info on this problem???? I haven't changed anything!
TALK TO PAYPAL! 9 times out of 10 when there are multiple people having the same problem that never had it before it is PayPal's problem.
Also- in the downloads section (maybe in the archives) is a module called PayPal request. It allows your customer to say"please send me a PayPal payment request" so that you don't lose orders and have a mess.
Problem is that it will be dang hard to explain to Paypal what the problem is --as I believe you and everything -- PayPal will say "Are you getting paid ? = yes -- then what is the problem ?? -- I constanly have the "caught in between" problem with 2 companys such as currenty ... a host and eBay on gallery images (I gave up out of one blaming the other ) -- I sure will try -- Thanks for your help -- Hopefully EVERYONE having this problem will contact PayPal and get some help
ASK YOUR HOST IF THEY HAVE RECENTLY ADDED NEW FIREWALL RULES.
ASK THEM TO CHECK THEIR IPTABLES LISTS FOR PAYPALS IPN IPS
and have them add them
If you have several customers at one time, and all come back to the server atthe same time,
multiply this x the number of stores on the server,
you get what the server thinks is an attack and it will blacklist these IP addresses
I know this one for a fact.
Been there done that

Well taking with my host -- This may help other (I know this is host specific ) as you may have a problem similar
Thank you for contacting Online Support. Both port 80 and 443 are open for bidirectional traffic. The problem you are experiencing is most likely being caused by the proxy server the information needs to pass though. Please make sure you are allowing communication form the following IP addresses.

I was having the same problem yesterday. I received 4 payments in the morning, and none of the orders showed up in the admin.
My Nochex payment module was working fine so i turned off the Paypal option untill the problem was sorted.
I was also having problems logging into the main Admin home page. All other admin pages were fine.
I knew that my host had recently been changing some firewall settings and a post from Dr Byte confirmed this in another thread of mine.
Anyway i contacted my host and asked them to look into it for me. They have obviously found something because everything is back to normal this morning and Paypal orders are being logged in the admin

Hi there
I have just experienced the same problem. The payment has arrived but now order is in the database. It is somewhat unlikely that it is a host problem since many of us are having the same problem. I did send and email to PayPal because I wasn't receiving email notifications any longer of received payments. Now I'm receiving notifications but the orders aren't there.
What I was wondering however is at what stge does the order get created? I tought the order gets created and the the re-direct to paypal occurrs, is that not the case?
