Sorry... I'm abit dyxlesic.

I meant.. for an ecommerce site.

Which where do you think the navigation bar (catergories bar)
should be?

On Top, with a drop down dhtml menu?
or
on the left side... like the standard that comes zencart (Out of the box)

This is really a personal issue and one that should fit with how you want your site navigated.

You can have a 3 column, 2 column left, 2 column right, or a single column layout.
Each has merits for certian types of sites.

I do not know that one can state that one method is the best for all sites...
