Free domestic shipping, not international

How do I set all the options so domestic shipping is free but international is not? Can this be done?

Turn on the Free Shipping and set to:

And this means everything has free shipping huh? So there isn't really an easy way to have some items ship free domestically and others not, and always charge for international? Is that doable but I have to create my own modules or something? Or edit all the zones? How would one do it?

What do you want to happen on "some" products for Shipping in the US?

How do you want to determin Free Products for US only vs non-free shipping products? There has to be a trigger of some sort to distinquish the two types of products ...

Okay, here is what I would like:
-A set of products that are free shipping in the US and cost actual shipping based on weight plus handling fee for international
-A set of products that people must pay for the shipping (by weight plus handling fee) and they can choose from the domestic or international choices as I've set them up for USPS (and any other carriers I may happen to use in the future)
-A set of products that are virtual and totally free (I've got that working but thought I'd mention it so I don't wind up breaking it)

You would need to have a flag on the products to indicate which ones are free for the US ...

Once the flag is made ... then you would need to adapt a free shipping calculation in the shopping_cart class similar to: free_shipping_items

This would require some work and custom coding to get this functional ... but it could be done ...
