[Done v1.3.7] bug on upgrading to newer versions - configure.php

When upgrading the install looks for admin/includes/configure.php, but you advise on this forum to rename the admin directory.

Maybe an option for the future to browse to the correct folder in the install/update screen. Then you don't have to rename the map with admin stuff to admin again and after the update to undo that.

During the upgrade you need to temporarily rename the Admin and then change it back.

    Thanks Anno.

I'd hoped to build that fix into 1.3.6, but it slipped off the to-do list with some other things taking priority.

It's been fixed for the next release :)

Good to hear. This will simplify the upgrade process. Won't need to edit paths pointing to the admin directory in configure.php before the upgrade, and then won't need to re-edit the same paths after the upgrade.

You don't have to edit those paths now. All you need is to rename it back to "admin" for 10 seconds while you view the System Inspection page on zc_install.

    Good info to know. Thanks.

On a related subject, is there a specific reason why the two configure.php files must be writable during the install, in situations where I do not want to write to them? Generally when I do a fresh install I use copies of the configure files I have already edited manually for my specific needs. Would be cool if there was an installer option where, after I upload the zen cart distribution to my server and upload my two configure files, I could process the initial database dump, without going thru the complete preflight check, system inspection, database setup, etc.

Sorry, didn't mean dump. Process the initial (fresh) database import. Is this the correct term?
