Add service for sale instead of product

Can anyone tell me how to add a service for sale instead of a product?

Also, in Configuration>Product Listing>Display Product Image
What is the correct entry to disable product image?

Configuration>Product Listing>Display Product Quanitity
What is the correct entry to disable product quantity?

Also, How do you get rid of the Out of Stock icon? There is no stock on services. I've gone into Catalog>Product Types>Edit Layout and gotten rid of the text that displays the # of items in stock, but how do I disable that feature entirely?

I'm so frustrated with ZenCart at this point, I'm almost ready to start using PayPal again!

OK I figured some of this stuff out for anyone who is interested. I still can't believe there is no option for services that would automatically disable all this product image and quantity stuff. That seems like a severe limitation of ZenCart to me.

To remove the No Picture Available icon
Configuration>Images>Product Image-No Image Status
Set this to 0

To remove the Out of Stock icon and disable stock quantities
Configuration>Stock>Show Sold Out Image in place of Add to Cart
Set to 0

Configuration>Stock>Check stock level
Set to false

Configuration>Stock>Subtact stock
Set to false

Configuration>Stock>Products status in Catalog when out of stock should be set to
Set this to 1

There are multiple Product Types available ...

You may wish to use something different for your Products that are services such as Document Product where you could change the display for just that Product Type in the Catalog ... Product Type ... Document Product ... EDIT LAYOUT ...

This would allow you to still use the information on regular Products (Products General) and turn off the information you don't need on Services (Document Product) ...

Or, make your own Product Type so you can customize it specifically to your needs ...

I am having a similar issue - I have downloads available as well as hard goods. I want to track stock on my hard goods but not the downloads. As far as I can see, there's only a global attribute to track stock or not track stock - is there any way I can track stock on some items but not others? Right now I've got stock on my downloads set to 100000000, but it would be nice to not have it track at all.

Downloads do not change stock ...

Unless perhaps you have something configured wrong ...

NOTE: Downloads are NOT Virtual Products ... do not mark the Products as:

Product is Virtual YES

That should be:

Product is Virtual NO
