upgrade problems help!!

I have a number of problems trying to update from 1.2.6 to 1.3.6

1. When running the Zen Cart installer (zc_install/index.php) I want to do a new install, going through the settings I come to "Database Setup" and I can not get any further because I keep getting this error :

Connection to Database failed
Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

I have tried every username and password combonation I can think of but nothing is working. Am I missing something?

2. When I go onto my new shop I get this error:

Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: notifier in

/home/USERNAME/public_html/shop2/includes/autoload_func.php on line 79

3. When I go onto my new admin area I get these errors:

Any help would be great

Done it, it was a mix between my ftp program missing out files and even folders when I uploaded the new store and dodgy config files.
