1.1.4d - secret 'coupon' code for 2-for-1 special on one product?

Is this scenario possible (version 1.1.4d)? Having a 'secret' code that the user can enter to get the 2-for-1 special on a single product?

Example:
1) Local radio station publicizes our event and mentions the 'secret' code.
2) User comes to our store & item, orders one, and somewhere during checkout enters the secret code to receive two
3) It would be a plus if the receipt indicates purchase quantity and ship quantity

If so, what's the best way to do it?

Discount Coupons could be used for this ...

NOTE: If you are using a v1.x version of Zen Cart ... you will find little support on a site that is that old ...

The current version is Zen Cart v1.3.7 ...

OK, I've turned on the Discount Coupons but can't tell what to do next.

The Coupon Admin area is available now but that just seems to list existing coupons. I don't know how to add a coupon. I see that gift certificates should be actual products, but I'm guessing that's not how coupons work.

P.S. Yes i know it's an old version but I only need it for 5 more weeks.

Should be an insert button to make a new Discount Coupon but I have not looked at that code for literally years ...

Thanks for the reply, you've confirmed I'm looking in the right place... that in itself is the best help. What should be there (insert) is not, but this is a way.old.version so a moot point.

On to Plan B... enter the code in the order's Comment area and we'll handle it manually.
