I have 1 manufacturer that offers buy 2 get 1 of the same product free. Can I set this up in the cart?

There is not a BOGO built into Zen Cart yet, but it is on the list ...
You could, however, look at the Products Price Manager and the Quantity Discounts ...
I am not sure if this would help adapt the prices for you or not ...Linda McGrath
