Default Banner doesn't show up in IE6/7

Hi there. My client wanted a more alternative sidebox navigation, so I coded it in HTML and inserted it as a banner so I'd have more control over spacing, etc. It looks and works great in Firefox and Safari, but it doesn't show up AT ALL in IE6 or IE7. When looking at the source, all the code is in the IE source, it's just not showing up.

I've tried checking the code to make sure it's more or less standard, but I'm not sure what else to check or change. I've searched the forums at length, but didn't find the same issue.

    Here's the site:

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi there! Sorry to bump this, but I'm really racking my brain trying to figure this out. I've not used the banner manager very often, but I checked another site I did with banners and they show up fine in IE (although those are just images and not HTML code).

Has anyone else had this happen? Any ideas why IE might be shutting the banners down??

Do you have a popup blocker? Norton Internet Security?

If you load the banner in the directory: /images/zencart

and set the directory to 777 ...

    Does it work?

Or ... do you have a white color covering it that IE is "hearing" and FireFox "knows" better than to use?

Hey! Thank you! No pop-up blocker and no Norton. The banner is made up of several image links, so it's not one image. But I did try uploading the files to the images/banners folder and setting everything to 777, but that didn't do anything. I used a tag I don't normally use (vspace), so I took that out to see if that made any difference, but it didn't. =(

I got REALLY excited about the idea that it could be hidden by a color, but I can't find anything in the CSS that might be it. I'm so sad!

Okay, I just tried making a image banner, but it doesn't show up in IE either. It's fine in FF, but it's like IE is completely ignoring it, even though it's in the source code.

I then tried adding random sideboxes and the space that they should be occupying is increasing, but they're still not showing up. I'm thinking it might be a CSS issue, but I can't find it. =(

Okay, randomly changing CSS values paid off! I managed to accidentally set the #navColumnOne to { position: relative; right: 100%; }! No idea how I managed that. But once I cleared that out, IE started showing the banners correctly.

Thanks so much for your help and for challenging me to rethink the situation! =)
