Default Can an expired SSL certifcate stop Pay Pal from accessing ipn_handler.php?

Pay Pal was working returning users to the check out success page but details of transactions weren't being passed through when I first tested.

Now Pay Pal is only returning me back to Step 2 of the zen cart shopping cart.

I have been working on this solidly for 3 days and have read the wiki, all every forum thread about Pay Pal.

Can changing the Pay Pal password affect the communication between zencart and pay pal?

Can an SSL certifcate expiring but still being on the server create problems with IPN?

I can access the IPN module files via the browser but get an error message about the cert not being currently valid and have to hit proceed anyway to access.

I want to uninstall / remove the expired cert but will have to get my hosting support to help me - the company I purchased it off doesn't provide any info about certificate removal.

Would this problem be stopping Pay Pal from accessing the ipn_handler.php file?

More than likely ... if PayPal cannot push the button on the window it will not complete the tasks ...

To test this, set your SSL off and see if PayPal can now respond properly ...
