cart error Adding items to cart

    Hi,

ive setup my website and was just testing it, i was quite shocked to see that i could add items to the cart without selecting ANY attributes for that item.
    Is this normal??

Ive got my attributes set as radio buttons, they are so a customer can select colour and size, but simply by hitting the add to cart button the item will get added to cart without a colour and size selected.

Has anyone else come across this?? How do i correct this so that a product MUST have atleast 1 attribute from each selection selected before the product can be added to the cart.

    Many thanks for your help

    Paul

    Set a default ...

Or, set an additional Option Value ... something like:
    Select from below
    Sort Order 0
    Default YES
    Display Only YES

    Now the customer must:

    1 select a choice

2 must change from the Select from below (or whatever you call it) and pick a valid choice or it cannot be added to the cart ...

Hi, thanks for your answer, Forgot all about the settings a bit further down the screen. Should have set them as default when i put them on.

Is there anway i can do a mass update or do i need to go into each individual product?

If i cant do a mass update then i think for now ill change them to a dropdown style, that will give me a bit more time to go through and amend each product.

    Many thanks

if you know the options_id and options_values_id you want to set to the default you could technically backup your database and do a global update ...

Note: dropdown is the fastest until you get the defaults fixed btw
