Discount coupon restrictions not working correctly 1.3.6

Hey gang,

I've played with this all weekend.

If I create a coupon and assign it no restrictions or only ONE restriction (one category or sub-category), it works correctly.
If I assign it to 2 allowed restrictions (out of 19 categories that I have) each and every time it will allow ALL the items to get the discount.

I've been pulling my hair out on this one and nothing can solve this.

Any ideas?

Add the restriction for the TOP category and set to: deny

I would have never figured that out.

I set the restriction for "TOP" to deny
and then I allowed two categories through that I wanted..... PERFECT!

Life is never simple is it?

This is actually a newer feature that was added to ensure more flexibility in setting the restrictions ...

Thanks for confirming that first adding the restriction for:

Category: TOP deny

Allowed all of your restrictions to work properly ...

I found if you add the "top" category (i.e., all products), to "deny" (not apply the discount) and then add the categories this is supposed to work. But it didn't for me. I assume because so many of the discounted items were in multiple categories that weren't discounted.

So I ended up removing the discounted categories, set the top category (everything) as "deny" so they would not be on sale, and then added the individual products to the sale. Thank you MySQL (125 products).
