    Default Paste Product Description

I keep my inventory in a spreadsheet but am unable to copy and paste the description when listing a new product. It does paste it but it only puts five or six words on each line and the font is different. I end up having to retype it. Am I doing something wrong?

Have you tried using Easy Populate to upload your product details rather than cutting and pasting them?

No. I don't know how it works since I've never used it. I only want to do the description, not all of the product details or the entire spreadsheet. There are 4700+ products on my spreadsheet.

Easy Populate can be used to manage as much or as little of your product information as you wish. If you wanted to use it to just manage your product descriptions, that's absolutely fine (though as it's designed exactly for stores with large numbers of products such as yours, I suspect that you would rapidly find yourself using it for more).

I've serched the forum and Wiki and couldn't find any simple documentation on how to use EZ Populate. For someone that has never used it the documentation I did find was not exactly in layman's terms! Any suggestions?

Can someone point me to EZPopulate documentation or explain how I can copy and paste a description from a spreadsheet.

I already looked at that one and it didn't explain how to do it...at least not in terms that I can understand since I've never used it before. Is that the only way to do this, with EZPopulate?

    Hi Beth,

It sounds to me like the text in your spreadsheet has beed "hard wrapped" at some point, likely prior to being put into the SS. So it's coming out and being pasted with those returns in it. You can varify this by putting some of it into any editor which will show invisible characters and having a look. (MS Word would do.)

If this is so, you have to do a cleanup to get rid of the returns and replace them with spaces. It's hard to say what might be the best way to do that without seeing the data and without knowing what tools you have to work with.

I don't see how the font could be different once the text is displayed on your site, since that is controlled by style sheets (in the latest zen version, at least).

Perhaps you could let us see an example?

    Rob
