How do I post multiple images of the same product. I want to show the main product and close up images.
How do I post multiple images of the same product. I want to show the main product and close up images.
Let me see if I can answer this one correctly, then some more knowledgeable user can stomp all over me if I get it wrong.
The general idea is that you add a number to the image file name for any additional images for a product. So, if your product image filename is image.jpg, then a second image would be image1.jpg (some prefer the more easily readable image_01.jpg). A second additional image would be image2.jpg, and so on. The numbers determine the sort order and therefore the order of appearance on the page.
For large image blowups you add the number after the image name but before the LRG (if you're using that naming convention.) So if the blow-up for image.jpg is image_LRG.jpg, then you could have additional images blow-ups named image_01_LRG.jpg, image_02_LRG.jpg, and so on.
Finally, if you're using medium images on your product pages, you only get one of them, no additonal ones. So you can have any number of small ones and each of them can have a large blow-up, but only 1 medium image per product.
And all of these are just created and up-loaded via ftp into the appropriate location on your server, from where they auto-magically appear on your pages.
There, I hope I got that right.

Further help here.
Ok...I still can't get it! I'm going crazy and crossed eyed! I know this is something easy bc I was able to do it one time before but I can't remember how I did it!!!!
This is how I am entering the images step by step..Tell me what I'm missing.
1. From Catageories I click on the product I want to add the pictures to.
2. Then I scroll down to to Product Images > Select Browse > Select image (image_1_large.jpg) > Open > Preview.
3. Select Accept
4. Repet steps 1-3 but image name changes to image_2_lrg.jpg.
HELP!!!
You can't do it that way. Set the image in your product to the main image you want and then upload the additional images via ftp to the images folder using the above naming convention for additional images.

I am having the same problems and have finally named all of my files correctly and placed them in the correct directory's. Although I have everything in place, I am experiencing a problem with my current template, the additional images will not display. When I switch the template back to the Classic Contemporary it works fine. Can someone please help with the problem I am having?
Thanks,
bsmity

Compare the tpl_product_info_display.php you are using with the template_default version of the file and find the missing pieces.
