Can't login - Admin or Customers

Hello guys,

As I left the office Friday everything seemed fine but now I try to login to the admin panel and nothing it happens. Is just sends me right back to the login page. No errors, no wrong password, nothing like that.

I then tried to login to my customer account. Which seemed to work fine until I added an item to my cart and then proceeded to try to checkout. It prompted me to login again.

I'm thinking that something is going on with the session data.

Any suggestions as I don't even know were to begin to look! Please assist.

My log shows this:

If you are the only one with Admin access then it sounds like your Hoster did something over the weekend. You could run the problem by them and/or check both your config files. Compare the ones on your personal computer with the ones in your Hosting account. This presumes that you have a working backup on a personal computer, which is very advisable.

Just ran a check and nothing has changed filewise...going to look into emptying the sessions table and/or the db_cache table.

No luck yet.

I also just tried turning off secure admin login and still no luck.

This is making me sad!!

The error msg. tells one exactly what the problem is and where to start troubleshooting.

Changing things at random will not do much, except make you more frustrated. If not sure what to do, have your Web person look at the situation or your Hoster.

Well looking at sessions.php the code appears to get hung up when it tries to write the session data.

I've contacted my host and am awaiting a reply to see if anything has changed on their end.

Well still haven't heard back from my host but I was trolling their forums and found this -

"We've waited to see if a fix would be pushed to the 4.x series, but at this point it is no longer prudent to remain unpatched. Today we have begun a forced upgrade to the most recent version of PHP, 5.2.0. Most scripts should continue to work normally, however there are some that will need to be upgraded to work with the new PHP. If you have any issues, please feel free to enter a helpdesk ticket anytime."

Not sure if this would have anything to do with it.
