The module is designed to work with gift wrapping attributes that you add to each product.
So the gift wrap is added when the product is added to the cart - not at checkout time. (This is different from the Amazon model, but some eCommerce experts say that upselling at checkout time is a bad idea.)

i only need it to show once so putting it as an attibute is kinda dumb lol unless theres a way it can only be done once, its for the whole order not individual items so im stuck at how to make that work? any suggestions
can anyone help?
Same here... how do I add a tickbox to the cart (not to each product) to indicate gift wrapping? Is this possible?
How about just creating a "Gift Wrapping" product, and allowing them to add this to the cart. Alternately, prompt on page 2 of checkout using tpl_checkout_shipping_default.php (or just modify the string TABLE_HEADING_COMMENTS from includes/languages/english/checkout_shipping.php)

hmmm I see, yes having the gift wrap product looks like it might suit. I expect it could be cross-sold for all products even.
And the second suggestion... is that to add text to the special instructions box to say something like "Indicate if you would like your order gift-wrapped"?
I think that would probably be sufficient too... thanks for the suggestions Scott.
