    Default File Upload Issue!

    Hello again.

So, one of my clients uploaded a file to me for publication. The client says so. Zencart says so. However, when I go to images/uploads ... it's not there. Is there another directory it could be in? This is the first time I'm ever doing this whole 'file upload' thing, so I'm new to the function.

    Any ideas?

    Regards,
    Kyle

However, when I go to images/uploads
If this is through the product setup function, the default upload location is /images - and not /images/uploads. You should also check the permissions on the "images" folder as it requires being writeable for product image additions.

If the clien is FTP'ing this file to the site I would look at the FTP directory for this individual

Maybe I wasn't clear, or maybe I'm just not understanding you.

I'm using the upload file attribute option. Meaning, they are purchasing ad-space and giving me their ad all at once. I understood that this file, once uploaded 'to me' would appear in a folder inside my Zencart directory as though they'd uploaded it. I also understood that this folder would be zencart/images/uploads. Now, what they uploaded is a .pdf file, if that changes anything.

Zencart has indicated that I should have received this file. So, being that it is not in the zencart/images/uploads folder, I'm assuming I'm looking in the wrong place. Perhaps I'm mixing two different types of attributes, or just two different things alltogether?

    Hope that's more helpful.

The upload files are renamed as 1.ext 2.ext 3.ext etc.

These are then referenced in the order in your admin ...

This is done to prevent overwritting of files with the same name ...

Check if you don't have files in the /images/uploads that start with numbers and match the reference on the orders in your Admin ... Customers ... Orders ...

Unfortunately, I have nothing but an .htaccess file in that directory.

    Weird, I know.

    Any other ideas?

Are the permissions on the directory correct?

The zencart directory was 755. I changed it to 777. Was that the problem? If not, any other ideas? If it was, how do I go about receiving that file now at this junction?

    More than likely ...

Also, if looking at it via FTP you may need to refresh to see the files added between displays ... just do a Refresh in your FTP to see the new files ...

The problem is probably fixed, and for that I thank everyone.

However, refresh reveals no new files. I'd really like to get that file in a simple fashion (IE: already having it) by the deadline for publication.

Is there a way to keep the original filename of the images uploaded?
