    Default Upgrade to Mysql 5?

    Hello!

My web host is offering a optional Mysql upgrade from 4.0.27 to mysql 5. Should I upgrade or stay away? currently running php 4.3.10 next week moving up to php 4.4.

    thanks!

If it works, keep it. As far as I can tell, there's nothing new in MySQL 5 that compels non-developers to upgrade. That advice notwithstanding, you never want to upgrade the technology of your production site until you've done a trial migration and tested it.

Yesterday, a fellow zen-cart shop owner on my webhost recommended I move up to MYSQL 5, as I am just starting out and have not yet "set up shop".

    any last opinions?

Well, if you're gonna' upgrade, the time to do it is while you're not mission-critical. If you haven't launched yet, and you have time in the schedule before launch to work out any potential kinks, then go for it.
