    Default Order Status Setting

Does the 'order status' (i.e. Pending, Processing etc.) have to be changed manually from the orders.php page? Is there any automated way to go from 'processing' to 'delivered' status? Any ways this can be done in batch mode?

I find the customers get confused when they see that their order is processing. The other choice 'delivered' can also confuse my customers if we set this when we ship.

What is the best way to handle this?

    Thanks,

You can rename the choice of words on the order status options via Admin->Localization->Order Status ... choosing different words may help your customers understand better.
