products not listed on order confirmation

I am using Pay Pal Standard for payment.
When the buyer completes their on-line entries and are taken to the Pay Pal page the "specific" items selected with quantities & descriptions are missing and are replaced by a single line item that may say something like "product 1"
This of course prevents me knowing what the buyer selected and what to ship out.
Any help in what I have done wrong or have not done yet is appreciated.

Individual item descriptions are not supported in the current (standard) Paypal module.

Line items will be supported* in the upcoming PayPal Express Checkout coming soon to a Zen Cart release near you.



* supported except in cases where there is a coupon or discount since PayPal doesn't accept negative amounts and so the cart must be aggregated.
