    email error Orders not showing in Admin: similar sad tune!! (PayPal IPN)

    Hey Ajeh and Dr. Byte,
    I've followed several strings of similar posts but have not been able to resolve this issue.
    I understand that Paypal does NOT list individual items because I didn't set up the acct. that way.
    Version 1.3.5

    I have spent hours and hours unraveling problems with host being blacklisted, but that is also resolved. I can receive email if someone posts a question, but that is it.

    My customers are showing up in my customer module. The number of times they log on is showing also.

    BIG problem is that even though I'm being notified of payment/order from paypal, Zen cart does NOT register ANY order, nor does it email a copy or notification of order to me.

    I would gladly offer lots of coffee to someone who can walk me through this very, very time consuming (at least 25 hours) and frustrating problem. Did I mention that I'm a bit tenacious?

    Have you tried to remove, install and reconfigure PayPal?

    My first thought is to actually upgrade to at least v1.3.6 if not to v1.3.7 so you have the current code without miscellaneous issues ...

    You might load a test site with the demo data just to test if this fixes the problems for you ...

    Then make a few cheap test products and see how paypal works ...

    Also check the PayPal settings on the site as on occaision, PayPal has been known to reset them ... so you want to be sure that they match the documentation in the /docs directory

    Yes, it's a lengthy read, but full of things to look at and try.
    Some may be things you've already attempted.
    After working your way through the items that you haven't already tried, if it's still not working, please post the results of data found in the debug logs so we can help further.

    Thanks Dr. Byte and Ajeh. I appreciate your responses. I've been working my way through this great Wiki resource and will reply when finished.
    Ajeh, my sister has a working Zen Cart site and I can refer to hers. I'm wondering if there is a broken link, and can search both her site and mine with Dreamweaver if you can think of the file, php, or area that MIGHT be the problem.

    When you mention that you have one working site and one not working, sometimes it's handy to do a file-by-file comparison with a tool like WinMerge to see what's different and determine whether the difference truly has any impact on the problem.

    This article talks about how to do that on your own site. You could easily substitute your sister's site for the comparison:

    Thanks again Ajeh and Dr. Byte.
    I've checked settings as per the Wiki suggestions. No luck so far. Will attempt the pay pal reinstall, however as I said, I'm getting the notifications from PayPal but nothing alerts me from within Zen Cart. (And the orders are not showing up under customer names).

    I do have one question tho...
    the settings suggested within Zen cart (PayPal IPN) are:
    http://mysite/catalog/index.php?main...eckout_process

    BUT it was listed in the Wiki notes as:
    http://www.myzdomain.com/MY_SHOP/ind...eckout_process

    The PayPal return URL on the PayPal site is not that crutial as Zen Cart is sending the actual URL based on your settings in the Modules ... Payment ... PayPal IPN that will override this ...

    I would try to use something valid which is the match to your URL settings in the configure.php such as www.my_domain.com

    Hi Ajeh,
    Well, I downloaded my sister's site and looked it over briefly in DreamWeaver. To my surprise she has a complete folder labeled Email and there is no folder by that name in my Zen cart. Since this is my first version I've no experience with what's supposed to be included, but I find this odd.
    Before I spend hours and hours comparing with WinMerge, can you tell me if I'm on the right track?

    The /email directory holds all of the email files for HTML ...
