    Default Group Pricing (per item) and Coupon Bug

    Hello,

    zen cart version: 1.3.0.1

    I installed the Group Price (per item) patch and it works OK UNLESS you have a coupon.

    When the user enters a coupon for a particular product (100% for the item and is restricted for that item only) the result price is correct, but when you hit continue it DOES NOT goes to paypal. It thinks that the entire order is FREE and allows for the rest of the downloads even though the user did not paid for them and their balance is still something like: $16.21

    For intance:

    Downloable Product 1: 2.99
    Downloable Product 2: 1.00
    ####################___
    total = 3.99
    coupon for Product 1 = -2.99
    ####################_
    total = 1.00

    instead of going to paypal and charge for the $1.00, it automaticallly displays the file to download the products.

    Any ideas on how to get around this?

    Can anybody help?

    I have disabled coupons because I do not want the order to be downloaded for free, but I really need to fix this bug.

    Also - this only happens with customers that do NOT belong to any groups (Group A, B, C ,D )

    Can anyone tell me which file(s) should I look like?

    Check that the restrictions on the Discount Coupon have:

    Category Top DENY

    Products whoever ALLOW

    Now check that this only works on the Products that it should work on and not on all products ...

    Hi,

    Thanks for trying to help.

    I tried restricting the TOP Category, but when I do it, the restriction does not get added (or I don't see in panel)

    When I restrict the coupon to one product, I see the retriction added on the panel.

    Even when the restriction does not get display on the Coupon Admin Panel, I just went ahead and tried ordering products again, but it didn't work. All of the products were downloaded for free.

    The weird thing is that the total is not 0.00, there is a real balance.

    Sorry I missed this on the first post that you are using v1.3.0.1 ...

    That is rather old and buggy and I do not believe that this worked 100% correctly in that version ...

    Have you tried upgrading? The current version is v1.3.7 btw ...

    Yes. I had been thinking about it and even attempted going thru the *migration* procedure, but I have to accept, it is a little scary.

    I am in the process of comparing my changed files against the official version that I am currently using. The list seems bigger than I expected and now I just need to go thru the list and merge it to the 1.3.2.

    I guess once I do this once, it will be much easier to do this again.

    I noticed that some versions have "workarounds" for bugs. Do you know if there is something similar for this version?

    You best bet is to make the plunge ...

    Upgrade to v1.3.7 on a test site with a new database that has a copy of your Live Site ...

    Write down database changes as you make them ... and get the site upgraded ...

    When ready for the real upgrade, set the Live Site down for maintenance, empty the new database and load a clean Live Site database, then upgrade that and add in any changes you made ...

    Test everything out ... when all is good ... fix the configure.php files for the live site directory ... keep the new database as the new Live site database ... move the Live site to /old_site and the new Live site to either your root or the directory you run your shop from ...

    There are numerous examples of how to do this that break it down in more detail ...

    Do you mean that I can go from v1.3.0.1 to v1.3.7 directly? I do not need to go from v1.3.0.1 to v1.3.02 then v1.3.5 and so on?

    This would be much easier.

    That is correct ...

    It is usually just as easy/difficult ...

    If you utilizes the templates and overrides directories, you can just compare those files to the new files in the current version to see what changes there are ...

    Again, we caution that you should upgrade a copy of your Live Site and use a new database for this ...

    A search on:
    /new_shop

    Should pull a lot of threads that cover a safer upgrade ...

    Now I am more motivated to upgrade. Of course, make a new copy, new db, etc, etc.
