qty - "Per product" or "available" ????

When uploading a new product is the products quantity box (below product description box) for the quantity of said product in currently in stock, or the quantity of product in each single purchase?

having been putting in "1", as when purchased there is 1 whole product only per purchase/payment.

don't use stock control at all and think I have it turned off, so if am currently using this wrongly it should have no affect, right?

just wanted to check and see if I should carry on putting the 1 into the field or not.

The Products Quantity: is how many you have in stock if you are tracking stock ...

Product Qty Maximum:
