Paypal Express button not going anywhere

I'm trying to get Paypal Express working on my site. The problem i'm having is that when i press the express button from my shopping cart, the browser never ends up redirecting to the paypal site. Instead it seems to time out, and after a few minutes i get an IE warning saying the site could not be opened.

I'm running the most recent version of zen cart, and IE 7.

I got several debug messages. Unfortunately, i'm not very knowledgable about this kind of stuff, so let me know what specific info you need (of if i inadvertently censored some info you need). Here is the output of one of the debug messages:

Can you try this:
1. Use the updated module posted here:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...6&postcount=19

2. Turn on email logging, and post the output of the "SetExpressCheckout" debug email here. Censor what you must ... but as little as possible please.

I tried using the updated module you mentioned. However, i am not getting the "SetExpressCheckout" debug emails, but am still having the same problem.

When i click the paypal express button, it seems to timeout and i get the IE page saying something about "Cannot open this page..."

I get the following debug messages:

ec_step 1 - 1
getOverrideAddress - 4
ec_step 1 - 2 - submit.

In the past i've gotten those "SetExpressCheckout" logs, but not anymore... maybe this new module had something to do with that?

The SetExpressCheckout portion is triggered by clicking on the Express Checkout button.

Okay, so the debug email is saying

In your earlier posts you mentioned these error messages ... are you still getting anything related to these even when the above occurs in the logs?

yes. This:

appears in a message called "PayPal test Log - terminateEC-A." It also appears in a message called "termEC-10."

The other message appears if you click on the https://api-3t.paypal.com/nvp

link in the SetExpressCheckout message that you had me post.

Is this a fresh install of v1.3.7 ?
or was it an upgrade?

Hello,
I am having similar problem. When I click on the yellow Paypal Express button the IE6 gives a blank page, Firefox gives an error:
The requested URL /ipn_main_handler.php&type=ec was not found on this server.
This occurs on http://demo.eism.net/. I have just upgraded it from version 1.3.6.
Similar message occurs on http://www.unique-gifts-jewelry.com/:
The requested URL /ipn_main_handler.php&type=ec&zenid=ab4d6** was not found on this server.
This was also upgraded from 1.3.0.2->1.3.5->1.3.6->1.3.7. (PHP 4.3.11 on both servers).
It loooks like the module cannot locate ipn_main_handler.php. Basic Paypal IPN works perfecly on both servers. Please help.

It was a fresh install. Like the person who posted above me, the Paypal IPN seems to work fine, it's just a problem with Paypal Express.
