shopping cart image in sidebox when using image for box header

I have looked everywhere and tried really hard but I can't work this one out.

I have an image for my sidebox header for Shopping Cart and that image is a link to view the Cart - and from there you can click through to Checkout.

I want to add a button (or text link even) at the bottom of the Shopping Cart sidebox (under the total) to take you directly to the Checkout.


I have tried grabbing snippets of relevant "checkout" link code from various places but have had no luck in inserting in the correct place or syntax, so I would appreciate a specific answer, please. :)

actually I've thought about it some more...

text or image (button) links at bottom left and bottom right (under the total amount) that say "edit" (link takes you to shopping cart) and "checkout" (link to checkout)
