Desperately seeking help with downloadable product problem.

Hi all,

I can't get my downloadable products to work and have been reading lots of posts on this forum, the wiki, and the FAQ but uptil now with no results.
Here's what I did so far:

I've added an option name "Download" order number 255 type radio.
In option value manager I added the value mp3 for the download option and again filled in 255 for the order number.
In attributes controler I inserted this atribute to a product.
The attribute flags are set this way:
- Use For Display Purposes Only (NO)
- Attribute is Free When Product is Free (YES)
- Default Attribute to be Marked Selected (NO)
- Apply Discounts Used by Product Special/Sale (YES)
- Include in Base Price When Priced by Attributes (YES)
- Attribute Required for Text (NO)
I typed in the file name for the product and the expire and counts.
In the modules payment I set the status for Paypal to delivered(3).

The product is now appearing in the downloads manager (green).
In the categories/products the "A" is blue now (not sure what that means).

I can add it to my basket in the shop and checkout to paypal. I can pay the item and return to the shop where I get the default confirmation message like "thanks we like doing business with you".
(I'm still in the demo environment with the test data in ZC btw)
The results are:
- The person that orders the mp3 file and payed it, doesn't get any link from my shop with which he could download the file.
- Under customers in ZC the customer is added but does not have any orders yet.
- The list under customers > orders is empty
- Under reports products purchased the product is not showing
- Reports customers orders-total is empty
- I am able to send an email from the shop to the customer, so email config should be fine.

I really hope someone can help me with this.

If you're using the PayPal IPN payment module and orders aren't showing up, then you haven't configured PayPal properly, or your hosting server has something blocking communications.

You could test your downloads using Money Order or something else to see whether things work properly after setting the completed order to Processing status. If the order comes through properly and downloads are available after updating the status, then your downloads setup is fine and it's just your PayPal IPN setup that's wrong.
You could try using PayPal Express Checkout instead as well ...

Solved in a blink this way!
Thanks a lot, the answer was paypal.
In my case I used a .htaccess file asking for authentication.
