Default New logo uploaded but where is it?

I've had to change my logo and have uploaded it to the same address that the original was in. But its still showing the original one.

They are both called postage_logo.gif. It was originally located in the main bit in includes>templates>images. I uploaded the new one and overwrote the old one.

If I go to my ftp thingy and I click "view" on the picture it shows the new one. If i go to my website its still showing the old one. I've deleted temps, refreshed screen. I

It should be saying "Rest of world starts at £1.99" instead of "flat rate £1.99". I don't understand because if you right click the image on my website and "properties" it gives a path where the new uploaded picture is. The old picture doesn't even exist anymore!

could someone please tell me what the logo says on their computer please?

Am panicking because I've upped my prices and I don't want someone quoting the logo bit at me for a refund!!!!!

    Thanks!

The path that you have quoted for your logo file is incomplete. If it is indeed where you have replaced the file, then it would have no effect. The full path should be
    includes/templates/YOUR_ACTIVE_TEMPLATE_DIRECTORY_NAME/images/

Oops sorry I missed that bit out. I was typing it from memory. I'd put it in my purpleshades template which is where it says its getting the logo image from on the website....although it can't be because I overwrote it!

Sorry that was just a typing error in my original post. Still the same problem!

Not really. When I look at your site (www.icklebits.co.uk) the header reads exactly as you say you want it to. Maybe you had an image caching problem hiding the fact that you change had taken place.

You are quite right. I've checked it this morning and it now says what I wanted it to say. Yes it must have been a caching prob. Thanks for replying anyway, much appreciated!

A quick tip for when replacing images. No matter what Browser you are using, refresh the page. With any Windows OS you can do this quickly using the F5 key.

This will update your Browser cache to show the new image. Usually works.

Refreshing didn't make a difference, that was what was so odd. I even emptied all those temp files and cookies!.

Never mind, its sorted now and the last post will still help somebody out there!

    Thanks

Your ISP may also be caching. Great for surfers, lousy for developers.

red flag Re: New logo uploaded but where is it?

I'm facing the same issue on a client's end. I see the new logo image after a refresh, but she doesn't == even after ctrl-F5 and a new browser session (IE). So, my question is: is there any code that I can include that will force ANY browser to take that logo.gif image and force it to be refreshed?
