Currency symbol on Order confirmation email!

HELP! The order confirmation email is showing these odd characters before the currency, I just can't seem to find how to correct it.

Example:
Products
------------------------------------------------------
1 x Test product 1 = £14.95
------------------------------------------------------
Sub-Total: £14.95
Per Item (Best Way): £2.50
Total: £17.45

Any help would be much appreciated!

To manage special characters on e-mails there is a translator Configuration ... E-Mail Options ...

Convert currencies for Text emails
What currency conversions do you need for Text emails?
Default = £,£:€,€

Check that as sometimes it can get corrupted on an import, update, etc.

I had to put the silly thing for those emails somewhere ... so I thought gee ... where should I put this email translation stuff ... hmm ...

I may feel very stupid after this post but I could not find anything to do with translation of symbols for email in Configuration > E-Mail Options

Could you please look in the Tools ... Server Info ...

Then copy everything from below the Menubar and up to and including the PHP vX.xx ...

Sounds like an incomplete upgrade or missing settings in your database ...
