Main page - featured products - layout changes

I have a site here.

I would like to modify the layout of the 'featured products' displayed on the main page. but i don't want any other page layouts to change. i would like the products listed on the index page to run in rows of 3 colums - currently there are only three featured products, so the desired layout would be a single row of three products. i would like it to have it so that if there were more featured products, they would align in rows of 3 columns down the page.

i have a good understanding of CSS and the Zen Cart template system. i thought that i might achieve the desire layout by modifying the .centerBoxContensFeatured in the stylesheet.css file; however, my modifications don't achieved the desired layout.

an interesting observation: when i checked the version of my Zen Cart - by clicking on the 'version' tab in admin - it says that my version is up-to-date; however, the stylesheet.css file is dated 2006-03-20. do i need to update my custom css file?

i read many of the other post that came up with a search of "featured," "products," "layout," etc. but none of these threads seemed to address the specific issue i have.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How do you want the featured products to look?

currently there are 3 items stacked on top of one another. i would like them to display side by side. and if i were to have, say, 18 featured items, then i would like to see six rows of 3.

You have a problem with your stylesheet if you have already configured it to display 3 per row ...
