Can eBay, or any outside transactions thru paypal, be reflected in Zen Cart?

I have set up both Google Checkout and PayPal Express Checkout with Zen Cart 1.3.7. In addition to the website I also have an eBay store. When an eBay buyer pays me thru Google, the call back URL will automatically enter the buyer's info (address and email) in Zen Cart (a new customer will be created), just as if the buyer bought from my web site.

With PayPal Express Checkout, if the buyer buys thru the website, everything is fine. But if an eBay buyer pays thru PayPal, the order information does not seem to be transmitted back to Zen Cart system at all. I wonder if this might have something to do with the "Payment Data Transfer" function in PayPal, but even after I enabled this option, orders from outside the website still are not getting back to Zen Cart. Is there anything I can do to make it work (as the Google Checkout does)?

Zen Cart's payment modules are intended to manage sales from your own website, not as a conglomerate tool to manage sales made in external locations.

So, I guess the short answer to your question is "no".

Fair enough. But Google Checkout module does have this capability which I found to be very helpful.

[FONT=&quot]I’ve a feeling if eBay will not even let you add a link in your adverts back to your own website they will defiantly try to discourage eBay traffic from bypassing them in the future… unless it comes directly to your web site there out of pocket.[/FONT]

Not necessarily true. If you have an eBay buyer and support PayPal they happen to love you and don't mind at all if they checkout through your cart.

Of course the PayPal fees are a bit large even for registered businesses. But it sort of guarantees that you are not going to give the customer the shaft because they can dispute any problems through PayPal with your site and get their money back.

This was one of the issues I faced while writing a module for eBay for Zen cart. So I simply asked and got the above answer.

The correct way to do thing is as Chris mentioned and just send them through the front end. :0)
