Removing Catagories/Products with Attributes ??

Well here we go with another reduntant question;

I'm trying to reduce Catagories and products on a cart by useing the Attributes. As a specific example the store is a Nursery (Plants not kids).. So what I have is "PlantX", but we sell everything in that plant from the seed to full grown spec's.
So now what I have is a Catagorie for seeds in that PlantX with all the different amounts and prices (different price for the quanity of seed) then another catagorie for seedlings then another for 1gal size ect..ect..ect.....
Its an endless list!
What I'd like to do is make 1 Catagorie, then just use additonial Products (PlantA/ PlantB.. ect ect) then just use the Attributes for all the types of that product, like..

PlantX >> Seed1# >> Seed5# >> 3 inch >> 1 gal >> 5 gal

BUT.. each option has a different price depending on how many are ordered..

Wouldnt I have to create a different attribute for each item? (thats OK if I do) but can the attributes do this?

And can part of a attribute be turned off in case a item sells out?

Two fold answer -

First part - Yes I would suggest that you set this up in attributes and it might be easier to create a false product that you do not display with all the attributes attached and copy this to other entries and then delete the attributes tht you do not want. JMO

Second - natively specific attributes are not capable of being turned on & off

You might look in the downloads section "other mods" for the stock-by-attributes module by kuroi and see if this aids in your inventory control

Thank You kobra...... useing the false attribute and copying to everything then deleting is going to save allot of time over new input
