Customer Link to Download product

You guys are the best! Here is the next block in the road.

I have my download products all setup. Attributes are all set up. When I run a purchase, nothing happens. What step have I missed that makes it instantly downloadable to the customer and also has down load link in the email order sent.
PS I changed my order status to go right to "3"

Can you explain what you mean when you say ...

When I run a purchase, nothing happens.

Do you see that there was a download in the order and it says unavailable?

What is the Orders Status when you look in the Admin at the Order?

Do you see the download attribute in the Order?

Have you an URL to one of these products?

Need a few more specifics here ...

Update. I see the problem. The order is "pending" and I am in the middle of a second problem with CC processing. Can, put this aside for now.

The order processes like a normal purchase.

If you go to my site it is all the products listed under Digital Designs. These are download products.

In the Configuration ... Attribute Settings ...

You should see 2 settings for the download orders_status range:

Downloads Controller Order Status Value >= lower value
Downloads Controller Order Status Value - Default >= 2

Downloads are available for checkout based on the orders status. Orders with orders status greater than this value will be available for download. The orders status is set for an order by the Payment Modules. Set the lower range for this range.

And then the uppper range:

Downloads Controller Order Status Value <= upper value
Downloads Controller Order Status Value - Default <= 4

Downloads are available for checkout based on the orders status. Orders with orders status less than this value will be available for download. The orders status is set for an order by the Payment Modules. Set the upper range for this range.

In each of the Payment Modules, there is an Orders Status ...

If this is set to an Orders Status such as Processing (orders_status 2) or Delivered (orders_status 3) then when the order is complete with that Payment method the download is immediately available on the checkout_success or the account_history_info for the order to the customer ...

You should also see on the order in the Admin that the downloads are listed on the order ...

So what do you see on the Admin order and the checkout_success or account_history_info when you make an order for one of these products?

I too have downloadable products and tried to do a test payment with a CC using PayPal Express but only received the congratulations page on my site. I did not get an email confirming the payment or a link for the download product. I did get an error for my email transport settings were not correct as it was Php so I changed that to SMTPAUTH and also entered the other info required for that. From what I can tell that seems to be working now but not so sure until I do another test payment. I also set the attributes for the products and did all that. I've also checked your previous post on Attribute Settings and they are good.

I checked the test order in admin and the order says it is in Pending status. Does this need to be in Processing status before it sends me the email with download link? Also, how do I resend this download link email again in case someone requests it?

Overall, I'm lovin' Zen Cart and this forum! Just a few more issues...
