UK shipping and Europe shipping prices

Hi,
I need to do the following ::

shipping within the uk is free if they spend over £100 otherwise £5 for anything under

europe they need to spend £200 for free shipping otherwise £10 for anything under

this is NOT per item

Is this possible? I have spent several hours looking and cannot find a solution, I have also checked the modules and can find nothing to do this particular configuration, so I was hoping someone might offer a solution, many thanks.

You would need to make a custom shipping module for this ...

Or, a combination of a custom shipping module and customizing the ot_shipping to manage the Free Shipping based on different zones and amounts ...

Probably cloning the Shipping Module for Flat flat to manage the shipping and then customizing the Order Total Module for Shipping ot_shipping would be the best way to address this ...

Surely using the Zone Rates module would do?

Set up Zones for UK, Europe & RoW

Calculate shipping by price.

UK values: 99:5, 10,000:0
Europe values: 199:10, 10,000:0
RoW as required.

Very nice Ryk, thanks. It works quite well, what I did was include all country codes outside of the UK at the £10 shipping and GB code only for the 5£ seems to work quite well.

There is a little confusion caused though, when the cart offers a zero shipping charge, the message on the cart claims 'The shipping rate cannot be determined at this time' this could be disturbing for the customer, now i know i could change the prompt within zones.php, but not sure that is a good idea? .... i would however like it to say 'FREE Shipping to DE' once the free shipping is activated based on their spending.

I think you need to look again at how you've got your zones and zone definitions set up.

Also, problems like this are usually better helped if there's a url to look at.
