    Default Flat rate surcharge

Is there a way to add a surcharge to flat rate shipping. I want to ship to the continental US with a flat rate and add a surcharge to Alaska and Hawaii.

The zone rates won't work because I have to make a choice to ship by weight, price or item which is irrelevant. The only difference is Alaska or Hawaii.

    Thanks,

    scottb

use the zones that are in the MZMT download,
    then clone the flat rate,

set the zones and the prices in each,

we just used this approach to setup shipping a site we have been working on,
shipping for totals under $200 in the lower 48 is $9 free over that.

and UPS List rates under $300 to Alaska and HI with free shilling after the $300 mark,

    Thanks Merlin,

I have downloaded the mod and am about to install it into one of my throw away test installs.

I haven't found clear instructions on how to clone a shipping module.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

I had read those before but the light never went on. I believe I have them working now.

I have Flat Rate for the lower 48 states and Flat Rate 2 for Alaska and Hawaii.

I do have a concern. The little buttons that show if a module is active is yellow instead of green. Is this something to be worried about?

The yellow icon is an indicator of two things ...

    1 missing configuration settings

2 Zones are set to limit the modules usage

More than likely this is the 2nd reason ...

It is the second reason and it seems to function properly.

    Thanks Ajeh.
