Create user account

I'm having a major problem with users trying to create an account.

When someone goes to checkout and they are a new user they are asked to complete a create account form. When they submit the form, nothing happen and it showes the same form. The user account is actually created, but they cannot log in.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What version Zen Cart are you running? The current version is v1.3.7 ...

Is this a clean install or an upgrade? If an upgrade from what version and how did you do the upgrade?

It is v1.3.7 and this is a clean install.

I am sorry maybe my installation is not clean since I changed the system from linux into windows after uploading files.
I will upload again and re-install it and see how it goes.

Ok. Now new user account can be created but it cannot log in.

After I changed "recreate session" from "true" into "false", it is working now.
But I do not know the reason.
The version of php of the server (windows) is PHP Version: 4.3.2 (Zend: 1.3.0).

Some servers do not manage the recreate sessions properly and there is conflict or confusion ...

Others do manage it right and you can enable the recreate sessions ... which is the better setting btw ...

I'd have to have someone more familiar with servers to provide the technical mumbo jumbo for the specifics on this ...
