red flag Required attribute function works no longer

    hi all,
my "reqired attributes functions" doesn`t work any more. It all went wonderfull a few days ago and suddenly doesn`t work any more. I have fields for size and text (i.e. Breite, Höhe - shop is german) in my shop which needs to be filled out before customers are ordering. Previously it worked and the shop let not go customers to checkout before filling out these fields. All fields were defined in the rigth way in attributes controller.

Now no one of my "required fields" work any more. And I have a lot. Don´t know what happened. Now customers can checkout without filling this fileds. This is a catastrophy.

My hoster upgraded to "MySQL 5.0.33" a few days ago - may this have any effect?

My ZC is 1.3.7 and an example product here:

    http://www.escrevo.de/shop/index.php...roducts_id=252

Just try and leave emty "Breite" or "Höhe" and nothing happens.

I would be happy, if anybody has an idea what to do. Thak you

red flag Re: Required attribute function works no longer

    Hi Kobra,

thanks for reply, but I don`t have php 5 but php 4.4.4 installed. It`s just my database Version of MySQL wich is Version 5.0.33.
Does this interfere as well with my problem?

I allready thought as well that database could be responsable, but I`m not that professional in this things...

My problem yet exists - do you or anybody else of this forum have another idea?
The mentioned fields are all text-fields (Grösse, Breite) and in attribute-controller all settings are as required.

Ah, I almost forgot: Installed "Image Handler2" recently, may this lead to troubles that way?

    Thanks for help

help question Re: Required attribute function works no longer

Ok, I eliminated some possible errors:
Installed a fresh 1.3.7 shop on my host - and discovered it`s not the SQL 5.0.33 Version and installed Image Handler2 as well on the new shop: Everything referring to "required text- attributes" works: means no checkout possible without filling required text-fields.

Afterwards I hang in my original database in this fresh shop and surprisingly the error appeared again.

This means that my problem must have origin in my database, without knowing what exactly. Never changed anything manually in my db.

I`ll yet look for other mods I`ve installed shortly (google sitemap, pricelist, pay-modules), which possibly can affect my db.

Do anybody have an idea, what happened. Thanks

Default zc 1.3.7: Required text attribute - all tested - found nothing

    Hi all,

seems to be not a very frequent or interesting problem, as answers are quite rarely.

But my text-attribute-fields which are defined as required, are continuing "not working". They let customers fill the cart without filling required fields.

    Allready explained everthing above.

Now I tested everything on a new fresh test-shop with all my installed mods and everything on a knew database and voila - required fileds are working fine, will say, are requireing filling them before checkout.

Might be anything with my database, I suppose, just don´t know what!

So I´m kindely asking once more in this forum, Is there anybody who had similar problems or do have an idea whats going on?
    Appreciate every note.
    Thanks

Default Re: Required text-attribute function works no longer

    Hi All,
ok, after a long time today I dedicated to my old problem, which still exists.

Found out now, that I still have an old backup-version of my db on which the "required-text-attributes" still are working fine as they shall do.

Thats a light hope to get it yet run as it was.

But unfortunately this backup is 2 month old and a lot of data meanwhile changed in my shop.

So I`m searching for a economical method to compare both db's to find out whats wrong in the actual one. Just I´m not sure what for I have to look, which fields or settings? Maybe it's just the content of one stupid field or table.

Do anybody have an idea regarding to the "required-text-attributes-settings" in the database?
    Thanks for help

yepee...! Found it out now what it is: "Google Site Map Admin" - Mod

Thought I had allready checked every Mod, but this one I obviousely had forgotten.

When I install the db-backup before "google-sitemap-Admin" - installation, everything works of my required text attributes.

But when I install the mod over this backup - required text attributes stops working. This is at least in my case, does not mean taht this mod causes thes effect in every installation.

But although I know the origin of the problem, I can't easily get rid of it, because haven't a deinstall of that sql-file.

Will contact the author of this mod - maybe he has got a deinstall file.

bug Re: Required attribute function works no longer

Hello Walzen (or anyone else who might know),

I am having the same problem that you had - my required text attributes no longer works and I recently installed the google sitemap module as well. I was wondering if you've found a solution to make the required attributes work with Google Sitemap or if you just had to uninstall the sitemap module?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hallo febp,

I´m really very sorry but I didn`t yet resolve this problem neither - probably in opposit to what I`ve been saying in my latest thread.

To me it seems as it is the Google ML Mod, but I do not have further proofs. I didin´t have time to work with this.

The only possibility on my opnion is to deinstall Google XML Mod, but there is no de-install for that mod ?!

And as I´m needing as well Google XML I ´ve not been able to repair this error.
So I´m still living with the problem and have to contact the customers, when they led free the text-fields after ordering.
    It´s a silly state, I know.

    Sorry

If anybody knows more about this problem, I would be glad.

    Hallo Walzen,

Are you using the Google Sitemap module by Andrew Berezin? If so, that module does have an uninstall SQL file (http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=product_contrib_info&cPath=40_60&products_id=544).

Even if it's not the same module, I believe you can still uninstall your sitemap module by removing all of its files from your server (but make sure that if the sitemap module's files overwrote any original Zen Cart files that you put back your originals) and deleting any of rows added by the module from your database using phpMyAdmin probably in "Table: configuration"... but I am not an expert yet, so be careful.

Still, I hope we can figure out the solution soon because I would like to keep the Google Sitemap module too.

Viel Gluck! Und danke fur Ihre Antwort,
    Aubrey
