    Default 2 questions

    • Is there a way to automatically update the price for multiple products? (i.e. quickly change 150 products from 17.95 to 22.95)
    • When I add a product, regardless of what price I enter the cart always lists a different price, for example a $9.95 product is listed as $13.03 Why?

Check your currency settings that you have a default and the default is set to 1.00

On updating all of the prices, are all prices that are 17.95 needing to be set to 22.95?

    Is this a permanent change?

Thank you, the prices are working now. Regarding automatically updating multiple products, this will not be permanant as over time i will change them again. Thank you for your help.

By permanent ... I mean that if you were to globably change all $17.95 to $22.95 would there then be a conflict when wanting to change $22.95 to $23.95 ... as in are there already products set at that price?

Otherwise, you could run an update command on the products table to replace the products_price with 22.95 where products_price = 17.95 ...

Currently there are no products at all (site is built on computer but not uploaded yet). However I will be needing to have categories of same prices. For example I will have 3 product groups (each group around 20 - 150 products) all for $15.95 and may at some point want to change one group to $17.50 while leaving the other 2 groups of products at the old $15.95 price. Can I do this doing what you mentioned with the update command? Thanks

All products on the site are categorized firstly on the type of product (around 10 all together with subcategories for a few) then based on the wholesale and retail price. Some products will have the same wholesale price but different retail price, so 3 categories may look like this:

    Wholesale $17 RRP $39
    Wholesale $17 RRP $34
    Wholesale $17 RRP $47

I may decide to chance all produce that are wholesale $17 and retail $34 to something different while leaving the other 2 groups alone. Hope that makes sense?

If you know the Categories that you want to change this will be possible ...

You may need to run the command for each category, but it beats doing each product 1 by 1 ...

It would be easier to explain once we can see your site ...

If the categories_id were 37 you can run this in the Tools ... Install SQL Patches ...

    PHP Code:
    UPDATE products SET products_price 22.95 where master_categories_id 37
Now all products in the category for categories_id 37 will have their prices changed to 22.95 ...
