Account creation questions!

1. We would like our store to have a fixed set of users. Once we create all of their accounts, we don't want anyone else to be able to register. Can we remove the new customer registration in this scenario? How?

2. Can we add some new fields to the customer registration? For an internal company purpose, we need to have accounting unit and po numbers attached to each account.

I'd really appreciate any insight anyone can give - my search through the forum isn't bringing up concrete answers for v. 1.3.7.

Sure, just remove the links to create account and only leave the links to the login. On the Template for the login page remove the code that calls the account creation module.

2. Can we add some new fields to the customer registration? For an internal company purpose, we need to have accounting unit and po numbers attached to each account.

Again sure you can do this, just follow the example of one of the fields that is already in the module, the easiest to clone is probably the Company field.
