Default atribute to add multiple other products

    new here and trying.
I have searched and looked and found a few answers that did not work for me.
    My temp address is http://grannysteacozies.officewebsiteonline.com/
Here is what I am trying to do.
In the Tea Cozie section I am trying to add a way for customers to add more than one matching heated tea pad if they purchase more than one cozie. ( really do not want to put "Matching Tea Pad" as a product, just as a add on.
They can order several cozies and I have got add matching pad but can't quite get how to add ordering more than one without ordering the same thing over and over again.
I have tried the three cross-sell mods but could not get them to work.
I did not really get into the dropdown box to much because thought it would not add up the total price if a person wanted more.

Don't really know what I am doing and need a little direction.

Well I am confused as to what you want -

When I checked add pad and entered 3 as the quantity for the cozie the cart has added 3 cozies and the additional for 3 pads.

In a parallel issue...what if a customer wants 1 tea cozy and 4 pads? I have a situation where a product has a matching add-on. If I want 1 product and 3 matching add-ons (selected from the same product page) can I add a qty. box for the add-on?

    Thanks

Not if offered as an attribute - you could have attributes for 1,2,3,4 though

so it would absolutely have to be offered as a separate product?

    Not necessarily.
As Kobra said, you could have it as an attribute with a dropdown or radiobuttons with options for 1, 2, 3, etc. of them (also a default of 0 if they don't always come with the product.)

OK. So I added in 3 choices of radio button attributes...add 1, add 2 add 3.... and assigned the price (+4.00) multiplied by the number of products for each choice.

Here's the glitch...If the customer adds to cart 3 main items...and checks the 2 additional items attribute...Zen Cart multiplies the extra 2 attributes 3 times (making that six additional items) as it would do the main product. This is reflected in the shopping cart page.

    Does that make sense?

Yes, this is the method that attributes are applied.

Select add1 and it adds 1 to each cozie purchased or 2 or 3

    Right.

So I've handled it with the attribute text which now says "Add 1 Punch Ball for each bag of balloons". This way, for now, the customer will be prepared for the checkout correctly.

Thank you. And if there is ever a mod or update to the attribute coding I will be looking for it.
