If you have not custin=mized this install or have used the override system for your customizations - try reloading the complete /includes folder over the current files.
This sounds like a corrupt file

Zen-Venom Get Bitten
This happened to a few days ago. The hosting site fixed it. Then the site went down yesterday an no one knows what to do to fix it. According to them, the databases are corrupt. I really can't afford to lose over 2 years worth of data.
Log in to your hosting account control panel.
If it's run via cPanel, then click on MySQL databases
Then look for your Zen Cart database, and click the "repair" button next to it.
If you don't have cPanel, log into the phpMyAdmin option.
Select your Zen Cart database from the pulldown menu.
Click on the "SQL" tab.
Type the following and click GoYour hosting company should be able to help you with the specifics if the above isn't enough.Code:repair table whos_online;

Thank so much. I should have come here first rather than waste an entire day. Though yesterday the error message was different. My host tried a few things but couldn't get it fixed. They even tried an earlier version of the database. Now I am up but with a week old database. Hopefully the host can correct that and we can be in business.
