customer sign up problem

hello,

i have another zencart problem I have only just discovered this. when signing up for a new account, the following error messages come up:

* Please enter a company name.
* You must select a country from the Countries pull down menu.

as far as i know company name wasnt required? and i did select a country so i dont know why its saying i didnt.

can anyone help?

Make sure your Minimum setting is 0 for Company ...

What version Zen Cart are you running? This sounds like v1.3.5 ... and we are on v1.3.7 and have fixed several issues on addresses that existed in v1.3.5 ...

i just upgraded to the newest version which has caused a lot of errors as it didnt upgrade properly. I am considering starting again from scatch

it will work best if you set it up from scratch

but just to be on the safe side, make a copy of your folder and the database, then wipe it all and do a clean setup.

1. copy your folder
   
   1. mkdir ~/zencart_backup
   2. cp /YOUR_ZENCART_DIR ~/zencart_backup/ -pvr
      _
2. backup database
   1. mysqldump -u YOUR_DB_USER -p YOUR_ZENCART_DB_NAME >> ~/zencart_backup/zencart_backup.sql
      _
3. remove files
   1. rm /YOUR_ZENCART_DIR -rf
      _
4. setup a new zencart
