In my current project of a music downloads site, I'm getting this error when I make a purchase and then do to download it.

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /catalog/pub/.gmvxsceyqipobvqe/


I haven't run into this problem before when setting up virtual products. In my troubleshotting I have set the CHMOD on the /pub/ folder to 777 but it made no difference.

/.gmvxsceyqipobvqe/ is 550 and can't be changed.

try that:

1. login as root
2. execute that command:
   chmod 777 /catalog/pub -R

as root you can change the permissions for every folder, and the -R option with chmod sets the permission recursively (for all subdirectories & files in them)

rather than open that file,
how about, changing the setting about redirect in admin

I have a webpage with some products which are not downloadable and some other products which I am trying to make them downloadable (such as the catalogue itself in PDF format).
I have tried the attributes sectio, followed all the steaps, changed the CHMOD of the pub to 777 and I still get the same error.
Can anyone help me?
