Checkout Success page coming up with error message

Hi everyone,
When an order is placed on my site, the checkout success page just displays an error:
[an error occurred while processing this directive]
Anyone ever had this one before?
The order emails are still being sent out, its just that page that won't display.

What version of Zen Cart?

Clean install or upgrade? If an upgrade from what version to what version?

Do you have the files:
/includes/languages/english/html_includes/define_checkout_success.php
/includes/languages/english/html_includes/your_template_dir/define_checkout_success.php

I am running 1.3.6 as an upgrade from 1.3.5
I have both of those files.
The site was running fine one minute and then it started with that error message. I went back through the files that I made changes too and all I did was text changes and nothing more.

Try reloading the files:
/includes/modules/pages/checkout_success/*.*
/includes/modules/send_or_spend.php
/includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_checkout_success_default.php
/includes/languages/english/checkout_success.php
/includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_modules_send_or_spend.php
/includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_modules_downloads.php

If using overrides on these files for example:
/includes/templates/your_template_dir/templates/tpl_checkout_success_default.php
/includes/languages/english/your_template_dir/checkout_success.php

Replacing the files didn't help. Any other file that could be causing the problem?

A lot of files could ...

Sounds like you have a bad upload of something but this is hard to pinpoint especially based on the page you have the error ...

You might want to use something like Beyond Compare from scootersoftware.com and see if you missed an update or have a corrupt file or something on the server vs a clean v1.3.6 ...

Or, try installing a clean v1.3.6 in a test directory with a test database and the demo products and see if this repeats or fixes the error ...

Another method is to try the Classic Template to see if it is your templates and overrides causing this ...

You can recreate the error by going to:

and placing an order. Its set to test mode so you can use the test credit card number of 4007000000027.
In firefox it comes up with the "an error occurred while processing this directive", In internet explorer it does the http 500 error and says that either the page is missing or there is a programming error.
I have too many hours into this site to start over now. I have already tried reloading all of the files that I have done any modifications on since the error started and it didn't make a difference.

Heres something interesting, I just got the same error message while working in the admin section, when I hit refresh on my browser the error went away and the page came up properly.
So I tried hitting refresh on the page that gave the error after ordering and then the proper checkout success page came up.
This seems really bizarre and I just can't figure it out.
