Payment & Shipping Customisation (Help!)

Hello all,

I have zen cart installed on my site and i was wondering if it is possible for the customer to reserve up to five items in the store. Once an item is reserved then no other customer can buy it until the product is unreserved etc.

I would also like it so that the customer does not need to provide a shipping address until they pay for the item.

As you can tell, this will be for a dropshipping service i am providing.

Also a customer can only buy an item when they have reserved it.

Is it at all possible to do this or am i wasting my time? I would greatfully appreciate any feedback on this as well as comments and views wether it can be done.

There isn't anything built into Zen Cart for a Reserver on Products ...

You would need to build this in and something to manage when the Reserver terminates and releases the Product back to the stock ...

I am only fairly new to the world of php and do not possess the skills necessary to do what you have stated. Do you know of anyone whom would be able to create this custom mod for me for a reasonable price...

Couldn't you have them use the payment option Check/Money order, (maybe change the wording of it)? That takes items out of stock, but if they end up NOT buying them, you just cancel the order, which allows the option to put items back in stock.

I don't know how to get around them not entering a shipping address, though.

make it a virtual product :). However.. then you would need to contact them on your own in order to get shipping addresses.. so i don't know how great that would work. Plus.. you can order as many things as you want.. can't limit it!

Thanks guys for your help. I have tried practically every combination and have came to the conclusion that this does need to go to the commercial help wanted section. Again i really appreciate all of the responses i have recieved,
